Are You Too Busy for Two Dental Visits?

January 22, 2015

We see technology changing our lives every day by saving us time and making our daily tasks more convenient in our busy schedules.  Many people, however, aren’t aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in new and exciting ways. Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less discomfort and creating satisfying results.  The most exciting technology we offer is called CEREC, which allows us to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic crowns, saving our patients time and inconvenience.

CEREC works by utilizing CAD/CAM technology in which a digital impression is displayed for you to see exactly how your new crown will look.  That impression is then transferred to our in-house milling unit, allowing you to see how a block of porcelain can be transformed into your final crown in about 20 minutes.

What does this technology mean for you?  The most important benefit to you is time, a commodity we never have enough of and can never get back.  By utilizing CEREC technology, your crown only requires one 2 hour appointment rather than two.  That means only one day off work, one day to find a babysitter, and only one drive to our office.  Instead of one appointment to take impressions and receive a fragile and unreliable temporary crown, waiting two weeks for a dental lab to create the crown, and a second appointment to finally have it placed, you only need a single appointment to walk out with your new, natural-looking ceramic crown.

Dr. Guido has performed hundreds of CEREC crowns that have proven to be precise, safe, and effective.  Find out if this option is right for you by calling Guido Family Dentistry at 765-448-4242.  We will be happy to answer your questions on this growing technology.  In the meantime, find out how CEREC has helped other patients HERE!
